Steven watched this lesion on the
bridge of his nose for about a year. He thought
that it was an irritation from his eyeglasses and
tried many home remedies (left). The lesion began
to bleed and he came in to Dr. Carthy for an evaluation.
The tumor was removed with a CO2 LASER.
Later a biopsy showed a Basal cell skin cancer.
His nose healed with a nearly invisible scar. In
the past such a lesion would possibly require skin
grafting and take many weeks to heal. Here Steven's
nose healed within 10 days of laser surgery.
